Zeitfracht is one of the largest book wholesalers in the German-speaking region. The company supplies booksellers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland overnight with books, board games and other articles and is also active in publishing distribution.

Initial situation

The Zeitfracht title database lists over 13 million digital and physical media titles. Every day, more than 400 tours are required in order to keep the promise of overnight delivery. Deliveries are made to bookstores and their customers, but also to gas stations, schools, individual teachers and many more as part of the publisher’s delivery service. The range of services for publishers also includes IT and financial accounting, as well as customer service on behalf of the respective publisher.

Given this diversity of customers and services, Zeitfracht relies on highly efficient processes as well as flexible systems. Since the previously implemented product information system could no longer implement the digitization projects without losing performance and flexibility, Zeitfracht decided on a replacement project in 2020 – and ultimately on Bertsch Innovation as its new digitization partner.

Highly efficient publication processes – with mediacockpit

With mediacockpit, Zeitfracht was able to provide a publication platform that is capable of collecting vast amounts of information and assets in individual data universes – which is absolutely vital for an accurate media title search, in the bookstore or in the web store. Integrated PIM and DAM functions as well as automated publication routes also simplify media handling as well as the publication of new articles.
