This transition presents significant challenges for many companies, especially regarding data transfer and the integration of the new API. What is TecDoc IDP and why is the switch relevant?
+

TecDoc IDP (Instant Data Processing) enables manufacturers and retailers to validate product data in real time and seamlessly transfer it to the TecDoc catalog, web service, and web store. Currently, data is transferred to the TecDoc catalog via the TecDoc DMM (Data Maintenance Module). However, with the DMM being phased out by the end of the year, manufacturers and retailers must adopt IDP promptly to ensure a smooth transition.

How does APIM support the transition to TecDoc IDP?
+

AutomotivePIM streamlines your data integration process, whether migrating from an existing database or importing TAF/flat files, into a centralized platform for managing all your product information. With built-in data quality reports, you can directly check and enhance your product data. Once your complete TecDoc catalog is stored in APIM, the data can be sent to TecAlliance for validation with just a click. After that, you’re ready for publication. Remember, you’ll need to request access to IDP through TecAlliance—we’re here to help with that.

Which other data standards / catalog exchange formats are supported by APIM?
+

AutomotivePIM primarily supports the TecDoc format, but it also fully maps standards like ACES, PIES (North America), MMI (UK), and Fraga (South America) to meet the needs of your international customers. If your spare parts don’t align with any existing exchange format, you can still manage them with ease.

How long does it take to integrate APIM including TecDoc IDP?
+

In Short: Absolutely ready for the transition from DMM to IDP.

In Detail: Implementation varies based on data sources, volumes, and output channels. We begin with a kick-off workshop to understand your system landscape and existing data. Typically, we quickly integrate your TecDoc data (along with any additional data) and complete an initial import swiftly. Following successful onboarding, data is directly validated through our integrated API.
